Cheryl is a graduate clinician pursuing a Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Northwestern University. She draws deeply on her diverse professional background—including years of experience as a teacher of both adults and children, and over ten years as a Labor & Delivery Registered Nurse–as well as her personal journey raising six children with distinct personalities, needs, and challenges in a blended family. These experiences shaped Cheryl's understanding of complexity, resilience, and the many forms that growth can take, and taught
her the importance of empathy, patience, cultural humility, and viewing each individual through a lens of strength and possibility.
Cheryl is honored to work with clients of all ages, life stages, and cultural backgrounds, including those of varying genders, races, abilities, spiritual beliefs, abilities, and lived experiences. She believes healing happens in compassionate, nonjudgmental, and safe spaces, and strives to create an environment where each person feels genuinely seen, accepted, understood, and supported.
Cheryl's therapeutic style is client-centered, psychodynamic, collaborative, and multicultural.
She emphasizes the recognition of inherent personal strengths and the development of personal insight. Believing that every individual is completely unique, she utilizes an eclectic and integrative approach, tailoring approaches such as Narrative Therapy, ACT, Mindfulness-Based
Cognitive Therapy, etc. to meet each client’s needs. Cheryl works with those experiencing grief, anxiety, self esteem, chronic illnesses, life transitions, stress, parenting/family concerns, depression, and trauma, as well as identity, adjustment, and spirituality concerns.
Cheryl is deeply honored to accompany clients on their life journeys—supporting, uplifting, empowering, and helping them identify their strengths, clarify their hopes, determine their goals, and move toward holistic wellness.
