Heather is an LPC/MHSP(t) working towards her full licensure in the state of Tennessee. She has experience working in child and adolescent residential treatment centers before working with families in the foster care system since 2007.
Heather is open to clients of all ages (4+). Her experience has led her to working with those that are experiencing anxiety, depression, stress management, relationship issues, grief, loss and trauma. She is knowledgeable of how Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) affect individuals, even into adulthood. She believes in the wellness model and practices a person-centered approach and tailors sessions and methods to the needs of each client. Heather hopes to create a welcoming environment for clients to experience unconditional positive regard and leave feeling heard with the tools necessary to handle life’s challenges.
Heather believes in the healing found in the mind-body connection through movement and nature and is planning to explore opportunities for outdoor therapy. She is also passionate about the human-animal bond and plans to incorporate animal assisted therapy in the future.
