Kristina is a graduate clinician working towards a Master’s of Art in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from East Tennessee State University.
She recognizes the bravery it takes to seek help when navigating life’s struggles, and values encouragement for each client as they take such courageous steps towards well-being. Alongside encouragement, she will emphasize a trusting therapeutic relationship, life-sustaining practices (e.g. mindfulness & gratitude), and acceptance with her clients.
During her time in the counseling field, she has developed a passion for working with a variety of clients, especially- couples and individuals ages 14+. Her background supports her ability to work with clients experiencing many challenges and diagnosis including those with: Attention Deficit Hyper Activity Disorder, Autism Spectrum Disorder, Anxiety and Depression, relationship conflict, life-transition/adjustment stress, grief and loss.
Treatment Approach
In her therapeutic approach, Kristina emphasizes an Adlerian perspective with the use of Acceptance-Commitment Therapy (ACT). This may look like exploration of life circumstances (current and past), personal values, and challenging unhelpful thoughts/feelings. With the goal being- acceptance of challenges, alignment with personal values, and commitment/action towards desired change. Overall, she values a holistic perspective to encourage clients in their journey to purpose and belonging.
